Mallow Bridge

The bridge in its present iteration was built in the 1850s, with its history dating back to the early 17th century. The city council planned to construct a boardwalk and our client required a BIM model prior to the commencement of construction.

Responsibilities

Scan to BIM modeling using Revit. The client provided us with point cloud data along with photographs of the bridge.

Challenges

The undulating nature of the bridge posed a significant challenge in the modeling process.
The road and sidewalk on the bridge was connected by a kerb. Due to the undulating nature of the bridge, modeling the kerb was challenging.
Creating the topography of the bridge present a considerable challenge due to limitations in the software.

Solutions

With dedication and persistence, the bridge was precisely modeled.
A separate kerb for all curves and twists in the road was created.
With our prior experience and expertise, the challenge was met with panache.
